Approach to Therapy

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (#008239) and hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. I modify my method to treat each client like the unique individual that they are. I believe in the importance of working collaboratively with each person; establishing goals and working together to determine a plan to achieve these goals. By developing a comfortable therapeutic relationship from the moment we meet, my hope is to create a safe place to share, heal and grow. I foster the development of self-discovery; by truly getting to know oneself we can not only learn who we are, but also who we want to become.

My passion is to support adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, anger, conflict resolution, relationship challenges, weight management, perfectionism, navigating life transitions, and dysfunctional parent/child relationships due to mental illness. I also enjoy working with those who aren't quite sure what their goal is, but are open to self-development and becoming the best version of themselves.

I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Crisis & Suicide Intervention. I am also certified in Dr. Karyl McBride’s five-step recovery model for treating adult children of narcissistic parents.

A Little About Me

You can often find me walking my dog, planning my next travel adventure, and spending time with family and friends. You can sometimes find me at the gym, reading a book, and engaging all sorts of self-care. You will never find me baking, painting or gardening.
